INHERITANCE
A downloadable game for Windows
"A mysterious message reaches Claude Harris. A voice on the other end informs the protagonist about his grandfather’s death and that he left a will. The grandfather bequeathed all his property to Claude.
Claude arrives at his grandfather’s remote house near Lake Valley — a place where he spent most of his childhood. The protagonist discovers the house is in terrible condition, and overall, some serious weirdness is going on in this place...
Various clues found in the house will help Claude unravel the mystery of this place..."
Inheritance is a short detective-horror game that I created from scratch in one week. It’s pretty quick to play — around 15–20 minutes, depending on how fast you read, since the main story unfolds through notes.
THE GAME CONTAINS CONTENT THAT MAY SHOCK SENSITIVE PLAYERS.
The game was made as part of my own challenge, #GameIn1Week. Sure, there are game jams for that, but hey — this works too.
Enjoy the game!
P.S. There are 2 endings :)

Game's pretty ok for the most part. I would work a bit more on putting more tension into the game.
Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont
NICE BUT NEED FIX
Thx! Now it must work correctlly :)
Hello.
Long story short, I found the grandpa's will upstairs, I checked it out, but the game doesn't progress, any updates or what to do next?
FYI, I've seen from the screenshots that you can interact with the random newspaper article - well if so, that doesn't work either. Looking forward to your response.
Hey!
I just checked, and everything was working fine.
To complete the first location, you need to visit all the rooms in the house — only after that your objective will change to "Find grandpa's will."
Once you read the will, close it using LMB, next an event should trigger, after that your objective updates.
I never encountered this issue during testing.
As for the newspaper — it will become interactive in later stages. Not everything is interactive right away to maintain the logic of the story progression.
Let me know if this helps! :)
Alright, I will write this again - I found the grandpa's will and checked it out, meaning that I've already checked out the house and the objective changed, don't you know your own game design? If I was not able to check out the newspaper, how would I be able to check out grandpa's will if the game didn't allow me? I told you, I did what the objective told me to do and it didn't change!
This is a very poor game design. In order to progress you need to have simple interactions and progress from one room to the other, not just wait have everything available right from the start and not let the player interact with it. Sorry, but this was very disappointing experience. Fix the game, so that maybe someone else can play the game. And I won't make a video or rate the game poorly out of common decency.
Edit: FYI, I was one of the first who played your game "Ufologist" and recommended it to tons of people, 1 year ago, I wrote a comment and left a great review, so you would understand why I feel this disappointed it this. Good luck.
I apologize for the disappointment and the unpleasant experience :( I truly value my players and I’m grateful that they take the time to play my games — the last thing I want is to let them down.
I’ve released an update that should fix your issue, along with many others.
Thank you for leaving a review and sharing your feedback. :D
